Top of the night to all of you far and wide around the world.
Tell me about your day, or else I will be forced to not read about it and do the opposite of learning about your day, and I really don't want to have to do that. Now to tell you some boring shit about myself and my day.
Well, I'm not sure when my day started or if it ended already or if it will ever end at all for 'me', in case it did indeed not end yet. Let me explain; I woke up at 3:00PM yesterday (after going to bed at 6AM the night/morning before) and since then, I went to the gym and ran 7kms, took a refreshing cold shower, biked 14kms to my friend George's house, ate half a sausage and a potato right off the flaming barbecue (It was delicious) and I also played some guitar and biked back home at about 11:30PM.
After that, I played some Halo, listened to music and for some reason got the erg to learn how to make maps for Halo Custom Edition, so I downloaded the kit for it and realized I also needed "AutoDesk 3DS Max" so now I'm pirating that, which sucks because I'm only getting about a 70kb/s connection and it's 3.01GB big, but I really don't give a shit as I'm saving myself 3500$ and I probably wouldn't be making any maps today anyways.
Also, during the night I started making emotions for MSN in Flash and eventually modified an old image I made for my Display picture here on Newgrounds. The image now has really unrealistic smoke and a decent blink every two or so seconds. Looks pretty good for now. I really want to make an epic Frame-By-Frame animation about myself and my dedication to music and this site in general.
It would be awesome, I can already picture it in my mind but it's honestly 100% Frame-By-Frame work and very long so I'm looking at possibly multiple of months if not years of constant work but I think it would be worth it and I would pull through it the whole way. I really want to leave my mark on this site (Eventually I will have a full time job and won't be able to do animations) and not be known as another user that hasn't contributed at all, this site is just too amazing to not be a part of it.
But I don't want to just submit fucking dumb bullshit like a (example) Clock, Sprite, Lock, Stick fight, or the recent "Kitty Krew" submission that completely abuses and wastes the site's bandwidth, which Tom and Wade are paying so much for, and I think they all have enough fucking bills and problems that they have to deal with and shouldn't be having to put up this sort of shit, and pay for storage that a bunch of 13 year old fagots are only putting their fucking trash on.
Call this a rant, but this is a serious issue that the site has (I just realized I sort of went off topic which was suppose to be about my day, just now) and I won't rest till it's fixed. I can go virtually at any time of the day to the Flash Portal and see ten submissions that just came in and that are all worthy of no more than a 0 or 1 (at the most) of my ratting. It's that bad. And what's with the submissions that complete garbage and get a 4.30+ ratting because the submitter is a Mod? Are people fucking retarded? Just 'wow', like... Why? How?
I need a new Graphics card. My current one was barley up to standards two years ago when I had it installed and bought it with my still currently used rig. It's a Nvidia 7300 GS 512MB. Well some of you might be thinking "Oh, but has 512MB, it has to be good" Fuck you, you obvious don't know what a graphics card is made up of if you think memory is all it needs to be perform well. It basically has the worse stats compared to all the other cards in its series aside from only one other card.
It's so bad that I have problems running a game from 2001 (Halo Combat Evolved) and not even on mid settings or resolution (They're as low as they get). The game isn't even graphics intensive at all compared to other games available today and even 8 years ago, and yet I still have to keep everything on shit settings for it to run it properly. I also beat the shit out of anyone on the game by the way, I'm so professional on that game haha. I'm thinking of getting the Nvidia 8800 Ultra or GTX (92ver. though) as those cards will supply my gaming and graphic designing hungers very well and at least much better then my current card.
I don't think I need the GeForce 9800 GX2, GeForce GTX 200 or what the fuck it's called (Nvidia give their cards way too many numbers and confusing names) as those kind of cards are extremely expensive and unnecessary as the 8 series can handle even the most graphic demanding games like Crystals more then well enough and I got the benchmarks to prove it. And also, I will need a better processor as it's known that if I get the 8800, I might bottleneck the performance and making my semi-expensive purchase go to a bit of a waste.
But the best part is that the prices for Graphics cards go down nearly 50% every year with every new series coming in at the mid year time. The 8800 Ultra use to be the grand daddy of all cards and was priced at 1100$ (Even though there were next no difference between it and the other cards in its series aside from the shader clock and the GPU in itself). Now I can easily get the 8800 Ultra for 350$ on eBay or even better, two of them for 700$ (I would basically be set for a good 1 year, LOL).
I have a Pentium D processor but like.. it does its job. It runs at a pretty reasonable temperatures and I overclocked the shit out of it, so now I have two cores in it running at 3.90 Ghz (It's manufacture speed was 3.00 Ghz) (Not bad would you say) along with my RAM running at 800 Mhz (It's manufacture speed was 667Mhz), which brings me to also add that I have 4GB of RAM in my system now as I added two extra sticks of 1GB each, to myself just a few weeks ago and a 500GB SATA 7200RPM Hard drive as I was running out of space on my 250GB SATA.
I also want to upgrade my monitor. I have this pretty nice 20.1" 1680x1050 LG monitor but I want to get the full HD 1920x1080 screen space. So I was thinking of the Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP, a really nice 24" monitor that I see potential in, it's also only 599$ which I'm willing to spend. Originally I wanted to get the 30" Dell they got but you know, fuck that, I don't need a monitor like that and it would just make me look like some fucking freak haha.
Hmm.. my birthday is coming up soon (August 6th) so that means I should be able to score some extra cash from my father, as fore my mother already bought me a gift (Gym member ship and a Mongoose bike, awesome machine). My brother alone owes me 540$ already for asking me to lend him money over the months, I hope to get that back soon. Aside from that, I'm pretty broke, I spent most of my money on the Boss GT8 (Multi-effects pedal for guitar) which drained me 450$ and all the computer stuff which was about another 300$ give or take.
I still got about 100$ somewhere in my room and some more on my bank account, not a lot though, maybe another 100$. I want to get another guitar, possibly a ESP - MII, M400 or a Jackson SL1. But I don't have 2500$ for the high end Jackson so I might have to go with the ESP unless I find a good deal on eBay. I should be pretty set after all that I guess. I got my fucking Marshall MG50 DFX amp, Jackson DK2 and Boss GT8 along with some Planet Wave cables and my good ol' worn out picks (About 70 of them) that allow me to insanely shred.
And I love getting the most juice and bang for my buck from everything I get as I believe I should get it for the money I worked hard for and sacrifice to get these products. Because I don't have a job (I want one though) I sort of forced myself to eat only oranges everyday at school and save my lunch money (I get like 20$ a week) so I could buy all the stuff I want. Like.. I'm going to shit the food out later anyways, I should as well get something from home where I don't have to pay for food and still be able get fed well.
Okay, I'm out of material to write (I probably could keep going but I don't want to). Talk to you all later (No one's going to respond to this).
EDIT: Friday, August 15, 2008 12:54AM.
I finally got a new graphics card (Last Tuesday, 3 days ago) but it turned out to be a completely different one than the one I was hoping to get but it also turned out to be a million times better and cheaper (Figure of a speech). Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX+ for $227.17 (That's already with all the shipping included). Talk about a long name, Nvidia should really come up with a different naming scheme, it's not too great, but it sure does make you sound pro when you mention it. Either way, this thing fucking kicks ass like no other card.
I remember I couldn't run Halo 2 on a 800x600 res., window mode, everything turned off and set to the Lowest settings and getting about 12 FPS IF I looked at the ceiling and not move too much. Now I can get like 40+FPS on a 1680x1050 res. with everything bumped up everything to it's fullest and Highest settings and no window mode. Not only that, but basically all my other games on my computer were no match for it, from Portal to Half-Life 2 to Battlefield 2142 to Team Fortress 2, I couldn't stop this beast.
So I decided to take on the ultimate challenge, I downloaded a Demo of Crysis, the most sexy and amazing game ever conceived, and the results were shocking. On a 1680x1050 res. with everything set to High (Not Very High), the game performed beautifully with a about 30 or so FPS, which is great for a single graphics card (You can do a Tri-SLI with this card btw) that you can get for 200$ and on a shitty rig like mine which has an 'okish' Processor and RAM (I have 4GB but it's like 667Mhz overclocked to 800Mhz).
But yes, Crysis has simply breathe taking graphics, sound effects, audio in general and even an amazing story to it which is as rare to find in games now, as it is to find a Pokemon in your basement. I'm definitely buying the game when I get the money, along with Halo 2 (I have a pirated copy that won't let me go online) and some other games like Team Fortress 2 (Which I also have a pirated copy of, which won't let me play online).

I'm level 21. Haha, took me a while. I also just cleaned the fuck out of my room. There was SO MUCH shit that I haven't touched for years and has been just collecting dust on my bookshelf. It feels refreshing now to enter my room and see much less shit on the counter. I still got a bit of cleaning to do, but I got about 90% of it done already, hopefully I will then go and play Halo 2 afterwards as a reward for my actions that I have done tonight. The cleaning made me a bit depressed though, I came across some old photos of me and my class mates and old 'old friends from the eighth grade, along with me having no choice but to rip apart some boxes and covers for old electronics that I kept in case they broke and I had to return them to the store.
Today I went shopping and got a lot done with my mother. We got most of the school shopping done; it was a bit brutal and painful but done nonetheless. I got some new shoes (as my old ones already have a hole or two in them and reek of failure), returned in my old bike (as it got into such bad shape that it was basically unusable and that's unacceptable from a bike that I just purchased last night), got a new mechanical pencil (One of those nice metallic zebra ones), erasers, binders and a backpack (Typical stuff).

"Your experience gave you a voting power of 6.36 votes. Your blam and protection points gave you an additional 10% of your experience power, meaning that your total vote power was worth 7 votes!" So as you can see, I hav finally reached the POWA of 7 voters. Awesome, but aside from that, a lot of new shit has happened since the last update and I honestly don't feel like talking about it all but I will try to point out the highlights of the time right now.
Got a PSP. Yes, I have gotten the amazing hand-held gaming device for everything but it's ability to play games, though it's a nice bonus for me. The screen is amazing, needless to say, it can reproduce pretty much all the colours that a normal computer LCD can and it has a pretty decent contrast ratio at the same time. The finish (I got the "Piano Black") is amazing, extremely shiny and dark, just the way I like it. It killed me 192 squid and another 50 or so for the USB (Which I found out last night I could of just used my Camera's cable (Same jack)) and a 2GB Memory card, that should of came with the PSP, in my opinion. I'm pretty satisfied and I recommend it, and yes I will be hacking it some new firmware very soon.
I entered the NG Calender contest a while ago and lost, but I still put my best foot forward and gave my submission as much care to detail and love as possible. Maybe I would of won if not for that essay that was due the same day as the contested was ending, that kept me away from doing some good ideas I had in mind from the start, oh well. I congratulate all those who won and actually had some meaning and amazement to their submissions, as a few key winners that I will leave anonymous, did a crappy job in my opinion and still won.
Today I submitted my 40$ for Semi-Formal. Today was the last day to hand in the money and I only found out about it today on top of that, thanks to over hearing some guys in my first period class talk about it. I'm not sure where it's taking place or who is exactly going but I will figure all that out eventually. There is only 300 people going and I am #284 so there was only 6 tickets left after I got one, pretty lucky.
So I'm pretty drained of money right now but I only got like one or two more things on my notepad-file list that I want to get, one being the 24" monitor and a computer tablet, the PSP was a bit of a impulse purchase but I'm sure I won't regret it, after all, you gotta live a bit, don't you? I would consider getting new pickups as well but I don't really have a need for that as my current Seymour Duncan SH-10 in the bridge provides kick ass tone and my middle and neck STK-S4's (I think that's what they are) are in no need because I don't play clean anyways and I want the sharp ridgy tone of a bridge pickup if anything. The SH-11 (Also known as 'Full Shred') is tempting but I'm sure my Boss GT8 can help me reproduce its tone with some fine tuning.
I downloaded a shit load of crap lately. Some games, some movies, some music. Assassin's Creed is an amazing game, I'll say that for starters, the game has an incredible physics engine (Either that or my graphics card is kick ass) and the graphics are ridiculous. It crashes a bit but I think I know a way around that and I can't really complain for not even paying for it. Most of the movies I downloaded were shit but one of them was funny. And the music was the typical Metal stuff I listen to.
I'm still going to the gym every other day for my running and working out, also doing a lot of push ups, setups and pull ups everyday to keep the heart going. I can almost do over 40 push ups, that's pretty impressive considering I wasn't able to do 8 without having to exhale like a dying cow for 5 minutes, 3 months ago.I think my weight is stable but I might be still losing some weight, hopefully not gaining it. Which reminds me, today is gym day so I'm gonna go do that now, talk to you later, world.
P.S. Biking to the gym is a pain in the ass when it's 5 degree Celsius outside.

So um, Assassin's Creed is basically pretty fucking awesome. Not only the graphics, even though they're mouth watering right down from the mountains and buildings to the smallest details like the dirt and ripped holes on the clothing that the characters in the game are wearing, and the physics engine that puts real life physics to shame. But the actual story in the game and the game play itself is astounding. Yes, it's a bit repetitive but so are 95% of games on the market right now and killing enemies with swords, blades, knifes and other sharp objects in obscure and awesome ways where blood is heavily involved and the usual out come, you just can't go wrong with that.
I give the game a final score of 9.1/10. It loses a bit of marks for the small issue of controlling the character, it's a bit annoying trying to climb buildings with your guy not moving in the middle of the climb or when trying hatch onto part of the wall where your character repels himself off the wall with his feet instead, very bad thing to happen when trying to get away from enemies. There's also the problem of controls, they're a bit ridiculous, you will know what I mean when you play the PC version. And the game needs a save option, it's annoying having to scout the entire map you're in, during the middle of a quest, just to find a hidden flag, view point or a citizen to save just to have the game save, people need to go the bathroom sometimes, you know.
I need to play my other games... but I feel I lost a lot of love for them. Ah fuck what am I talking about! I need to play guitar and do my school work, fucking hell.
